A strong and ramified network is a valuable instrument for personal and professional development and for a future successful career. In our programme we are committed to spare no effort towards building and retaining such a network for our students, who are encouraged to actively take part in numerous networking opportunities:

After-Work Lectures

The Chair in Business Administration, Banking and Financial Management organises an after-work lecture with professionals of local and national banks and the financial services industry twice every semester. These impact lectures are aimed at academics, students, practitioners as well as the general public and are held by professional experts in the areas of Investment, Asset and Wealth Management. After-work-lectures are supported by the CFA Society Liechtenstein and are open to the public.

Company Visits

Occasionally, our students get the chance to connect with the local financial industry by taking take part in a company visit. This is not only beneficial for networking purposes, but also for getting a deep insight into the way of conducting a business, addressing finance related issues or making strategically important decisions.

Applying academic knowledge in practice can be a welcome change in an academic student life. MasterLAB, a core module in the MSc Finance programme, has been specifically developed for this purpose, where students work jointly on specified projects with local companies to identify and deliver practical solutions. Previous projects covered, among other topics, company valuations for takeover decisions, the programming of a tactical portfolio allocation model, process developments and implementations, or the analysis of cross-border asset allocation of philanthropic institutions.

Guest Speakers

By inviting guest speakers, students gain first-hand knowledge on applied academic theory. Usually, guest speakers hold leadership positions within their company as CEO, CFO or Chief Economist and thus come from similar educational backgrounds as our students. This shift in perspective is considered a valuable insight and a competitive advantage for the future career path.

Invitation to Further Education

The continuing education offered by the Institute for Financial Services – Liechtenstein House of Finance – provides extensive opportunities in the respective areas of expertise: Banking & Finance, Tax and Law. Established study and training courses, conferences, forums, seminars and lectures demonstrate an important link to practice.
