Cooperation with the University of Würzburg

The Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein has signed a cooperation agreement on joint study opportunities within the master's programme Information Systems with the Chair of Business Management and Information Systems at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg.

Already in February 2017, Prof. Dr. Jan vom Brocke, Hilti Chair of Business Process Management at the University of Liechtenstein and Prof. Dr. Axel Winkelmann, Chair of Business Management and Information Systems at the University of Würzburg, met in Liechtenstein to decide on a cross-border cooperation within the master's programme Information Systems regarding the education of students. Furthermore, possibilities for joint research projects have been discussed and initiated.

Recently in another meeting in Vaduz, Prof. Dr. Michael Hanke, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Learning at the University of Liechtenstein met with Gregor Friedrich-Baasner, project manager and research associate at the University of Würzburg and officially signed the cooperation agreement. “This is an unique opportunity for our students to use both fields of specialization areas from the University of Liechtenstein as well as from the University of Würzburg. In Liechtenstein, the students can choose between the specialization fields 'Business Process Management' and 'Data Science' and in Würzburg between 'Enterprise Systems', 'Business Analytics' and/or 'Global Operations and Information Management' depending on the students' choice“, says a pleased Dr. Bernd Schenk, Deputy Head of the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein, and concludes: “According to a clearly defined curriculum the students spend a part of their studies at their home university and another part at the cooperation university. At the end of the study program, two diplomas from the University of Liechtenstein and the University of Würzburg will be awarded.”
