1st Blog: About the most underrated city in Europe...

When I thought of Warsaw I thought of gray Eastern Bloc buildings. While it might still exist in some parts of Warsaw most of the city is modern and Warsaw even has a skyline with 13 skyscrapers that are over 150m tall and a lot of very cool architectural projects such as Zlote Tarasy. Zlote Tarasy is a very famous shopping centre in the city center and it has spectacular glass roof. The Zlote Tarasy was the most expensive construction project in Warsaw ever. In there are stores of popular western brands such as Nike or H&M. I really like the top floor as it offers a lot of different restaurants and different Fast food chains.

Warsaw has a nice mixture between concrete buildings and high-tech towers as it combines tradition with innovation. Warsaw also offers a lot of beautiful parks such as Łazienki-Park. After a stroll through the city I really like to visit bars.My favorite bar is the Panorama Sky Bar located on the 40th floor of the Marriott Hotel where you have a beautiful view of the city and also of the Palace of Culture which is very close from the Hotel. Apart from all the skyscrapers Warsaw has a very nice historical center that is located in a different area of all the skyscrapers.

My go to restaurants are the so called "milk bars“. They don’t offer any milk, but extremely affordable meals starting from 1,5€. Those restaurants are remnants of the old Soviet times. In the evenings I mostly go out eating because restaurants are very affordable in Warsaw. On the weekends I mostly start my evening together with my friends at Ulubiona, it is a tiny shot-bar where every shot costs about 50 cents. The nightlife in Warsaw is very vivid as clubs are open almost every day at the week. I have noticed that people in Warsaw usually do not spend a lot of time at their apartments in the evening. You will see them in Bars, Restaurants or Clubs.

I tried traditional polish food like pierogi and bigos. The food was delicious, and I already tired making those dishes by myself (which didn’t end very well).

I really like our University as it has a very good reputation and is considered to be the best Business School in CEE. Even though the University is not that big there are two different restaurants and three different cafes inside the campus. Inside the main building of the University there is even an office from the polish bank Santander, where you can set up a polish bank account.

Public transport is very good and affordable as a semester-ticket costs about 20€. You can go around the City with the Metro, Tram or the Bus or you could just simply use Uber or Bolt as it will cost you probably about than 3€ per ride.

I really like Warsaw and I would recommend everyone to visit this city as it has a lot more to offer than grey blocks.
