Content

Modern society is a networked society permeated by information technology (IT), defining ECIS 2015's Conference Theme. Networks, perceived as a group of organisations and people connected on several aspects who exchange information, contacts, and experience for professional or social purposes, leave their mark on almost every area of our society and promise diverse advantages to those involved. From a technical perspective, enormous amounts of information can be communicated to a larger number of recipients faster than ever before. The evolution of networks is heavily influenced by the extensive use of Information Systems, which has enabled co-evolving advanced quantitative and qualitative forms of networking.

ECIS 2015 should be a meeting place for European and also non-European researchers in the field of Information Systems from various cultures and countries and should reflect the specific and innovative research in information systems dealing with the overarching networked society.

The Committee of ECIS 2015

Jan vom Brocke (University of Liechtenstein)
