KEYLA, by Colombian Viviana Gomez, the story about a family that has been broken, but come together because of the disappearance of one of its members. Keyla is the first fiction movie ever filmed in the island of Providence, Colombia

Keyla is a young woman that lives with her father Breggie in Providence, a small island in the Colombian Caribbean. One day her father goes out fishing but doesn't return. While they are looking for him, Keyla and her uncle Richard (48) receive an unexpected visit from Spain: Helena (38), Breggie's ex-wife, comes with her son Francisco (12), Keyla's half-brother, whom she always wanted to know, but never could.

The Spaniards arrive just when carnival in Providence starts. They get impressed with the beauty of the colorful landscape and the peculiarity of the people, descendants of Spanish, black slaves and English pirates. Keyla initially is very upset with the visit; keeps resentment to Helena for leaving her when she was pregnant with Francisco and Keyla was a child. But gradually she approaches the boy and gets captivated by his nobility and sweetness. She shares with him the most precious memory of her father. It is a Morgan the Pirate's map, which point a hiding treasure. Francisco asks his sister to undertake this hunt; he feels that his father was close to find something. They go together by boat, cross the island, its secret places. On this adventure they get to know each other, accept one another as siblings and discover the truth about their father.
