Start of the lecture series on investment and asset management: In the scope of the public lecture series “After Work Lectures” of the University of Liechtenstein, in cooperation with the Liechtenstein Society of Investment Professionals, a lecture by the founder of AEM Advisors AG in Zurich will be held at the beginning of the year.

Start of the lecture series on investment and asset management: In the scope of the public lecture series “After Work Lectures” of the University of Liechtenstein, in cooperation with the Liechtenstein Society of Investment Professionals, a lecture by the founder of AEM Advisors AG in Zurich will be held at the beginning of the year.


In 2012, the Chair in Business Administration, Banking and Financial Management of the University of Liechtenstein will once again offer a series of lectures on current developments in asset and investment management. Omar Abou el Maati will present his lecture entitled “The Mergers and Acquisitions Deal Cycle” in Vaduz, on Thursday, 12 January 2012, from 5.30 p.m. In a discussion to follow, led by Professor Marco Menichetti, who holds the Chair in Business Administration, Banking and Financial Management at the University of Liechtenstein, questions regarding the lecture can be posed, to facilitate a more in-depth exploration of the topic through direct exchange with the visiting speaker. In preparation for the discussion, participants can submit questions in advance to banking@uni.li. Michael Frommelt, president of the Liechtenstein Society of Investment Professionals, will offer his conclusion. The subsequent drinks reception provides opportunities to exchange ideas.

Exchange of ideas among professionals
Mergers and acquisitions of companies are complex processes that are implemented by experts in various specialist areas. In his lecture, Omar Abou el Maati will explore the entire business cycle, starting with the reasons for a sale, leading on to the different assessment methods and through to the transaction structure. He will also explore the fiscal and legal aspects within the current context of asset and investment management, and point out potential pitfalls in mergers and acquisitions. Omar Abou el Maati is the founder of AEM Advisors AG, which is active in the areas of corporate finance and business consultancy, as well as wealth management. Previously, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the area of corporate finance and was involved in numerous national and international mergers and acquisitions.



The series of After Work Lectures is a result of a collaboration between the University of Liechtenstein and the Liechtenstein Society of Investment Professionals, and is aimed at professionals from banks, asset management companies, insurance companies, financial advisory services and tax administration companies, as well as lawyers, trustees, fund managers and auditors.
