2012 Business-Plan Competition awards ceremony

Prizes for the region’s most innovative business ideas: On 19 June 2012, the 2012 Liechtenstein Rhine Valley Business-Plan Competition will come to a climax in the auditorium of the University of Liechtenstein with prizes being awarded for the three best business plans.

Prizes for the region’s most innovative business ideas: On 19 June 2012, the 2012 Liechtenstein Rhine Valley Business-Plan Competition will come to a climax in the auditorium of the University of Liechtenstein with prizes being awarded for the three best business plans.

Since this year’s Business-Plan Competition began, over 40 entrants have participated in four training sessions aimed at imparting the basic knowledge necessary for putting together a business plan in areas such as finance planning, market analysis and income statements. In breakfast circles and personal coaching with the Affiliated Institute SME Centre of the University of Liechtenstein, the participants were also given the opportunity to exchange experiences with interesting personalities from the business world. The business plans submitted have now been analysed and evaluated by a jury of six experts. The three best plans out of 12 plans that have been nominated will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday, 19 June 2012, and will receive prize money of CHF 10,000, CHF 7,500 and CHF 5,000. The event will be held in the auditorium of the University of Liechtenstein in Vaduz, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and will be followed by a drinks reception.

Formal awards ceremony
Following a welcome address by Klaus Näscher, Rector of the University of Liechtenstein, Deputy Prime Minister Martin Meyer will provide an overview of the economy of Liechtenstein in international competition. Professor Christian Marxt, Head of the Affiliated Institute SME Centre and Chair of Technology and Entrepreneurship at the University of Liechtenstein, will describe the procedure involved in the Business-Plan Competition before handing over to Martin Meyer, Klaus Näscher and Lothar Ritter, Rector  of the NTB Interstaatliche Hochschule für Technik in Buchs, for the formal awards ceremony. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Liechtenstein band Nevertheless.

First-class network
The Business-Plan Competition is sponsored by the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein, the NTB Interstaatliche Hochschule für Technik in Buchs and the University of Liechtenstein. Project cooperation partners include START Liechtenstein, the Junior Chamber International Liechtenstein Werdenberg, the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Liechtenstein Chamber of Trade and Commerce . The jury is composed of Christian Hillbrand (University of Liechtenstein), Simone Mächler-Fehr (Fehr Agentur für Marketing), Urban Laupper (Bank Vontobel AG), Jürgen Nigg (Liechtenstein Chamber of Trade and Commerce), Jules Landolt (Stäubli Sargans AG) and Daniel Mettler (President of the Junior Chamber International Liechtenstein Werdenberg).
