Entrepreneurial thinking and actions are increasingly in demand both in the public cultural sector and in what is known as the “third sector”. Förderkreis Gründungs-Forschung e. V. (FGF)¹ acknowledges the development of the increasing significance of cultural entrepreneurship and the cultural and creative economy with a separate Cultural Entrepreneurship working group.

Foundation of the Cultural Entrepreneurship working group
Represented by Dr. Ruth Jochum-Gasser, the Institute for Entrepreneurship took part in the public “Culture meets economy” symposium at the constitutive meeting of the Cultural Entrepreneurship working group in Bozen in July 2012. The aim is to undertake an interdisciplinary assessment of the subject of cultural entrepreneurship in research and teaching within the science of entrepreneurship. This involves both an evaluation of the current state of research and of prospects of the theory of cultural entrepreneurship and an intensive consideration of interdisciplinary and international concepts for teaching in this area. Current developments also imply important impetus in culture management training and promoting the careers of artists and those working in the culture sector.

Option for students from Master’s degree programmes
Students at the Institute for Entrepreneurship at the University of Liechtenstein can now also produce their Master’s theses on the subject of cultural entrepreneurship. For further information, please contact Dr. Ruth Jochum-Gasser, research assistant at the Van Riemsdijk Chair in Entrepreneurship, at ruth.gasser@uni.li.
