Liechtenstein, too, has been shaped over the last decades by dozens of inventions and innovations with exciting stories behind them. Numerous inventions have played a substantial role in helping create the “economic wonder of Liechtenstein”. Yet people are often unaware of many of these innovations, such as the P.L.E.A.S.E. Professional medical laser device from Pantec AG or the world’s smallest water meter from Neovac AG.

A journey through the history of inventions and innovations

With the aim of changing this, three partners have come together to form the “Innovations from the Principality of Liechtenstein” association: Peter Goop from the arbeitsleben.li initiative, Oliver Stahl, graduate from the University of Liechtenstein and founder of Früchte- und Snackbox Express, and graphic designer Susanne Bühler from Susanne Buehler AG.

Together, they are forging ahead with a special project: an A5-size postcard depicting the most important inventions and innovations from Liechtenstein for the period 1940–2013. The first version presents 37 innovations from Liechtenstein from such varied categories as medicine, technology, culture and nutrition.

Possible applications for the postcard

In collaboration with the association’s project team, various design documents relating to the innovations postcard can be used and developed. Companies and institutions in Liechtenstein are being offered the opportunity to use the postcard for their various communications channels.

These can be personalized for all manner of requirements, for example for mailing campaigns and Christmas cards, banners and flyers, and for incorporation in company websites.

A strong partner in the Affiliated Institute SME Centre

Alongside the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the project 45plus “Utilizing potential for Liechtenstein”, the Affiliated Institute SME Centre of the University of Liechtenstein is backing the project as a strong partner. The centre of expertise for small and medium-sized enterprises is located in a valley known as “Entrepreneur Valley”, and with good reason.

The aim is to provide a contribution to the continuation of this tradition, and to provide various support services to small and medium-sized regional enterprises in the course of their development – during foundation, growth and change phases.

The “Innovations from the Principality of Liechtenstein” project constitutes an additional opportunity to promote the entrepreneurial spirit in Liechtenstein and the Rhine Valley region.

Postcard distribution

The postcard is available exclusively from the “Innovations from the Principality of Liechtenstein” association, and available to the general public. Individual postcards cost CHF 1.00, with a minimum order size of 25 cards.
