On 23 April 2013, the Liechtenstein Tax Forum will be held at the University of Liechtenstein. Current developments in international tax cooperation are on the agenda as well as specifically the extensive tax cooperation between Liechtenstein and Austria. The event will be followed by an information evening on the Certificate of Advanced Studies.

The Principality of Liechtenstein has for a long time been undergoing a challenging period of fundamental changes in the area of tax law in a European and global context. In Liechtenstein, these changes are being addressed by the three pillars of the Liechtenstein tax strategy: national tax reform, international tax cooperation and tax services. Correspondingly, national tax law has been comprehensively revised as a result of the new tax legislation that came into force on 1 January 2011 and been structured both to conform to European law and to be compatible internationally.

Against this background, the Liechtenstein Tax Forum on Tuesday, 23 April 2013, is dedicated to the various current developments in international tax cooperation as well as specifically to the extensive tax cooperation between Liechtenstein and Austria. The challenges and opportunities of international and European tax cooperation for Liechtenstein as an economic and financial centre will be examined in detail, as will international tax competition.

The Liechtenstein Tax Forum is an event series by the Chair for Tax Management and the Laws of Liechtenstein and International Taxation at the University of Liechtenstein’s Institute for Financial Services.

Platform for the exchange of ideas
Renowned experts from politics, academia, public administration and private practice will give talks based on practical experience as well as on academic findings. The central aspects will be analysed and discussed in the format of an open dialogue, from which the participants, in particular, will benefit. Interested parties can participate in this dialogue not only at the event itself, but also by submitting written questions in advance by e-mail to caroline.lindner@uni.li. The speakers will be happy to take up these questions.
