Description

Sustainability and digitization are two critical factors that are shaping the future of companies. It will be interesting to investigate, how they influence the innovation efficiency of an organization. Sustainable innovation includes green innovation, environmental innovation and eco innovation and is focused on creating technologies and services that are environmentally friendly, while digitization refers to the integration of digital technologies into various aspects of a business. First and foremost, sustainable innovation and digitization can improve a company's bottom line. By incorporating eco-friendly practices, companies can reduce costs and increase efficiency, while digitization can streamline processes, improve decision-making, and increase productivity. Furthermore, both sustainable innovation and digitization have the potential to create new revenue streams, through the development of innovative products and services if it is done in an efficient way. Currently, it remains uncertain whether companies that tackle both sustainability and the latest digital technology trends are able to achieve innovation efficiency and therefore establish long-lasting competitive advantages. One of the objectives of the research is to generate new scientific knowledge and added value for practice by examining the two factors of sustainability and digitalization in relation to innovation efficiency.
