University of Liechtenstein Welcomes Around 400 Guests to Summer Celebration

Around 400 students, employees, alumni, and friends of the University of Liechtenstein came together for the University's summer celebration during its anniversary year. Under the motto “15 Years of the University of Liechtenstein and 65 Years of Education for Liechtenstein”, the event provided an opportunity for encounters, conversations, and exchange among people who shape the University today and those who have accompanied its development over many decades.

The University Community at the Centre

The summer celebration highlighted the diversity of the University community. Students, employees, and alumni from various disciplines and study programmes took the opportunity to connect, strengthen existing relationships, and celebrate together. Guests enjoyed BBQ, refreshments, and soft ice cream provided by the team from Mausi's Marroni.

65 Years of Education for Liechtenstein

The connection between past and present was particularly evident through the attendance of an alumnus from the first class of the Abendtechnikum in 1961. As the earliest predecessor institution of today's University of Liechtenstein, the Abendtechnikum laid the foundation for a development that continued through the Liechtenstein School of Engineering (LIS), the University of Applied Sciences Liechtenstein, and the Hochschule Liechtenstein before becoming today's University of Liechtenstein. In an interview with 1FL TV, he shared some memories of his student days and the early years of the institution.

An Evening of Encounters

Even a brief rain shower did not dampen the positive atmosphere. Pleasant surroundings, lively conversations, and reunions across generations made the summer celebration a successful event in the anniversary year. Many guests spent the entire evening on campus and enjoyed celebrating together until midnight.
