Shaping Responsible Human-AI Collaboration in Higher Education

Project Description

Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), is transforming how knowledge is produced, professional tasks are performed and decisions are made. Higher Education institutions must therefore prepare students and academic staff not only to use AI tools, but also to critically evaluate their outputs, understand their limitations and apply them securely, ethically and responsibly. The project addresses this need by strengthening AI literacy, digital resilience and the competences required for AI-augmented professional environments.
The project will conduct a transnational needs analysis and develop a modular curriculum aligned with the European Digital Competence Framework, DigComp 3.0. The curriculum will combine foundational AI knowledge, responsible and sustainable digital practices, human-AI collaboration, ethical reasoning and cybersecurity awareness. Cybersecurity will serve as a practical application domain in which learners can explore both the opportunities and risks associated with AI, including automation, AI-assisted decision-making, data leakage, prompt injection and manipulation of AI-generated outputs.
The resulting curriculum, applied simulations and learning materials will be integrated into a multilingual online learning platform and piloted with Higher Education students and educators across the partner countries. The project will provide a validated AI competence framework, modular learning resources and Open Educational Resources that can be incorporated into university programmes and adapted to different disciplines. Through these results, the project aims to support curriculum modernisation, graduate employability and the responsible integration of AI across the European Higher Education landscape.
