Sanja Tumbas, Stefan Seidel, Jan vom Brocke and Nicholas Berente (University of Georgia, USA) won the Best Paper Award for their paper on “The 'Digital Façade' of Rapidly Growing Entrepreneurial Organizations” at the The International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in Texas in December 2015.
ICIS is the most prestigious gathering of information systems academics and research-oriented practitioners in the world.
Their paper reports the findings from an exploratory study of 16 entrepreneurial organizations that are undergoing, or have undergone, periods of rapid growth, and how digital technologies have enabled this growth. Digital entrepreneurship is a topic that is becoming increasingly prominent in the region given the amount of small and medium sized organizations that extensively use digital technologies in the phase of growth.
