The LBS is distinguished by its strong network with regional and international companies. Its research is relevant and addresses current practical challenges, for example in fields such as digitalisation, sustainability and artificial intelligence. This creates the foundation for successful knowledge transfer and innovation.

Key Activities and Formats

Knowledge transfer at the LBS takes place through various formats. In so-called labs, companies collaborate with the LBS over an extended period and on multiple levels. In transfer projects, researchers from the university work together with companies on concrete challenges. Such projects may be externally funded under certain conditions (e.g. through Innosuisse). Students can also be involved in knowledge transfer by addressing practical problems, for example as part of theses or specialised courses (e.g. master’s labs).
