Educational Journey of the Master’s Programme in Information Systems: Innovation and Technology on the French Riviera
How does innovation emerge where research and industry work hand in hand?
Students from the Master’s programme in Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein explored this question during an Educational Journey to the French Riviera. At the Sophia Antipolis technology park, they gained practice-oriented insights into innovative companies, international organisations, and current developments in technology, digital transformation, and information systems.
Together with students from the Prague University of Economics and Business and FHV – Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, the group explored one of Europe’s leading technology and innovation hubs. As Europe’s first science and technology park, Sophia Antipolis brings together international companies, research institutions, and start-ups in a unique environment, providing ideal conditions for collaboration between academia and industry.
During the Educational Journey, the students visited SKEMA Business School, SAP, TRANSVALOR, ARM, and DSTI – School of Engineering. Discussions with experts provided valuable insights into current challenges and future trends in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, software engineering, and data-driven business models. A visit to Parfums Galimard in Grasse complemented the programme, demonstrating how tradition, innovation, and brand development can be successfully combined.
Beyond the academic programme, the Educational Journey offered numerous opportunities for international exchange. Together with students from partner universities, participants discussed current topics, shared different perspectives, and established valuable connections across countries and disciplines.
Special thanks go to all our hosts for generously sharing their time, expertise, and experience with our students. Their insights into both research and industry greatly enriched the Educational Journey and will continue to inspire the participants throughout their academic and professional careers.
The students returned to Liechtenstein with new academic perspectives, international connections, and many inspiring experiences—ready to apply what they had learned in both their studies and future careers.
