Cooperation and networks organised
A 15-member teacher-researcher and MSc student delegation of the Institute of Architecture and Planning just returned from a networking, fact finding, teaching and research mission to the City and Metropolitan Area Government of Barcelona, Europe's Urban Design Capital. The Barcelona Agency for Urban Ecology and its director, Salvador Rueda, the City of Barcelona's urban design co-director, Jaume Barnada, the director of the Advanced Energy Lab at the University of Technology, Torsten Masseck, and the two executive directors/chief coordinators of urbanism in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona authority, one of which is Harvard University Professor Joan Busquets. They were among the partners and supporters of the week-long Design Dividend mission, comprised of  workshops, visits and professional network opportunities - including sessions with the lead curators of both the Center for Contemporary Culture and Barcelona's Modern Art Museum.

The innovative network-based seminar format focused urban design studio of the Master of Science in Architecture students was led by Professor Droege and urban design expert teacher and researcher Anis Radzi. The week successfully reaffirmed lasting connections and brought back valuable lessons for the institutional and cultural environment of design in Liechtenstein and our larger cross-border region.
