Ziele

Students learn about the origins of BPM in approaches such as Kaizen, Business Process Re-engineering, Total Quality Management, and Process Innovation, and can explain relevant BPM terminology. They know about BPM as a management approach focusing on analyzing and improving end-to-end business processes in order to enhace organizational performance and competitive advantage. Students know about the goals (time, cost, quality, sustainability) and core areas (strategic aligment, governance, methods, technologies, culture, people) of business process management. They are thus empowered to identify areas of improvement and suitable architectures and frameworks. Besides, they can provide recommendations on the institutionalization of business process management in an organization. Moreover, students know and apply central methods of performance measurement and management. They are able to apply the BPM concepts to relevant areas of application, including supply chain management, enterprise content management, customer relationship management, and enterprise resource planning.
